Master Seminar, Distributed and Parallel Algorithms

We will have a briefing with a discussion of the topics in the first week of the semester, on the 17th of April at 1pm (room 1/414, Mathematikon). The seminar itself will be a block seminar on the 10th of July in presense (room 1/414, Mathematikon). The final reports have to be handed in two to three weeks after that. Seminar slots will be assigned after the initial briefing.

Content: The seminar covers recent topics in Distributed and Parallel Algorithms. In particular, we will look at recent publications of the best conferences of the field at the moment.

Recommended (not necessary):
Algorithmen und Datenstrukturen (IAD),
Algorithms and Data Structures II or Effiziente Algorithmen I (IEA1)

Leistungspunkte: 4 LP

Duration: one semester

Teaching mode: 2 SWS seminar (in English)

Workload: 120h; thereof 30h learning in class, 90h talk and report preparation.

Passing the course: Regular participation in the seminar and discussion. Giving a talk of roughly 45 minutes (including discussion) in English and a written report (also in English) of roughly 7 pages. Giving feedback to other students report via Easychair.
